As a Senior Consultant and Executive Coach with Leadership Excelleration, Barbara McMahan brings over 25 years’ experience partnering with organizations and leaders to maximize their talent and align with business strategy. Barbara specializes in building leadership capacity from emerging leaders to C-suite executives, developing effective teams and facilitating positive change to achieve desired business results. Her underpinning philosophy is that of ethics, collaboration, mindfulness and professional growth. Barbara uses a tailored, consultative approach to fully understand her clients’ needs and partner with them to identify practical, relevant strategies that will improve their likelihood of success.
Prior to joining the LE team, Barbara consulted across multiple industries and regions of the world to provide executive coaching, team development and training solutions. She has worked across healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, retail, not-for-profit and higher education industries. Barbara has held senior leadership roles in organizational development and human resources and has served on the adjunct faculty of the Farmer School of Business at Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. She currently serves as an Executive Coach for the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce WE Lead Women’s’ Leadership program.
Barbara is a certified coach and holds additional certifications including the MBTI, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument, Strong Interest Inventory. Firo-B, Performance Programs 360 Instrument, William Bridges Managing Transitions, Organizational Development from NTL-Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences, SPHR and SHRM-SCP. Barbara also facilitates sessions on Strengths finder and Strengths Based Leadership as well as Patrick Lencioni’s Five Behaviors of a Team. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology and holds a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University.
